Model FDBZ-WT
Air Duct Housing Watertight Enclosure
INTRODUCTION
The FDBZ-WT watertight enclosure provides protection
to Siemens Smoke Detectors when installed in an Air
Duct Monitor Housing. This enclosure is suitable for in-
door wet/high humidity application.
The FDBZ-WT provides protection for the following:
1. Siemens AD2-P, AD2-PR, AD2-XLR, AD2-4W,
FDBZ492, FDBZ492-R, FDBZ492-HR and FDBZ492-
PR Air Duct Monitoring Housing.
2. Faraday 8741, 8742, 8743, 8744 Air Duct Monitor-
ing Housing.
3. The enclosure is accessible via a front cover and it
is protected with a key lock.
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS
Protection Rating: 4X_UL50, NEMA and CSA.
The enclosure is rated for indoor wet/high humidity ap-
plication: Internal equipment protected from falling rain,
ice, etc.
INSTALLATION
1. The Air Duct Monitoring Housing models must be in-
stalled to meet local codes and Authority Housing
Jurisdiction.
2. The Air Duct Monitoring Housing models listed above
come with an installation kit that contains a mounting
template. Remove the paper backing from the tem-
plate and affix to the air duct at the desired location.
3. Using the template as a guide, drill or punch (2) 1¼"
(32mm) hole for input sampling and outlet tubes.
Clean all holes.
4. Position FDBZ-WT enclosure in such a way that the
holes on the template and FDBZ-WT line up with
each other.
5. Mark the (4) FDBZ-WT mounting holes, then drill
(4) 3/32" (2.5mm) pilot holes as marked.
6. Secure the FDBZ-WT enclosure to the air duct with
(4) #12 x ¾" sheet metal screws available with the
FDBZ-WT enclosure kit.
7. Fit the Air Duct Monitoring Housing on the fitted
studs and secure with nuts (2) provided with FDBZ-
WT enclosure.
8. Connect the sampling tube and outlet tube to the
Air Duct Monitoring Housing (position the tube in
such a way that air flows into the intake holes).
