Remote Sensitivity and Alarm Indicators

INTRODUCTION
The SIEMENS Models RSAC-11 (round plate) and
RSAW-11 (rectangular plate) Remote Sensitivity
and Alarm indicators work with a PE-11 detector.
The LED on the remote indicators mimics the color
of the LED on the detector. Use the remote indica-
tors in applications where the detector is not easily
viewed, such as air ducts and drop ceilings.
Each PE-11 detector can drive one RSAC-11 or
RSAW-11; however, the total number of detectors
and remote indicators must not exceed 30 devices
on an initiating zone. For example, each zone may
have 29 PE-11s and 1 RSAC-11, or 15 PE-11s and
15 RSAW-11s.
The RSAC-11 or RSAW-11 contains an LED
indicator that flashes in one of three colors: green,
yellow, or red. When the PE-11 detector flashes,
the remote indicator flashes in the same color. The
flashes occur approximately every 7 seconds and
are described in Table 1.

INSTALLATION
The remote indicator may be placed up to 25 feet away
from its associated detector using 14-18 gauge wire.
1. Use a single-gang switch box (user supplied) for
mounting the RSAW-11; Use a 4 inch octagonal
conduit box (use supplied) for mounting the
RSAC-11.
2. a. When connecting to the RR-11 remote relay,
make the connections to the relay base TB2
(See the RR-11 Installation Instructions,
P/N 315-094924).
b. When no connection to the RR-11 remote relay
is made, route the wires through the hole in the
detector base and make the connection to the
screw terminals on the on the PE-11. Refer to
Figure 1.
