Networking Groundbreaking operation
Operation is a key function of all process
controls. This applies, in particular, to danger
alarm systems that have to cope with the
high stress load of users in a danger
situation. New ground has been broken with
the Cerberus D100 operating panel. The
ergonomic design was handed over to
experts. The design of this new operating
panel incorporates not just standards and
guidelines or technology but also the user
and his or her natural responses.
The color touch screen represents the center
of the operating panel. Logically arranged
and colored self-explanatory buttons display
all information about the entire system. An
extensive keypad is available for frequent and
experienced users.
In addition to its operation in the security
alarm control and indicating panel or its
operation at a remote location away from the
system cabinets, the DT1000 can also be
operated via the Intranet. This feature is
particularly interesting for remote functions or
for informing security officers at different
locations.
The BF88 operating panel and the SOP-Net
network operating panel are available in
addition to the new DT1000 system operating
panel.
A danger alarm system is not alone in a
building. An efficiently functioning danger
alarm system should also be able to commu-
nicate with all other equipment specific to
the building. For example, the forwarding of
alarm information using telecommunications
equipment is a practical idea. Another practical
benefit is the provision of an operating control
center with all relevant data for handling the
associated commands just as the input of all
control center-relevant data into an operating
control center for handling the associated
commands. The efficient internetworking of
the system components is also an integral part
of a danger alarm system in addition to
communication with external components.
Since the existing line network laid throughout
a company site is a considerable economic
factor, the networking of the danger alarm
system must be adapted to this existing
network.
