Station WS1 (GPS) Advanced

AP 257/22

The Advanced AP 257/22 provides the following

additional functions:

For each day, the following data can be recorded and

transmitted to the bus:

• Maximum wind speed

• Maximum brightness

• Minimum and maximum outside temperatures

The angles at which the sun is shining (azimuth and

elevation), can be calculated from the date, time of

day, and the location coordinates, and can also be

transmitted to the bus.

For each building facade, the facade control can be

supplemented by shadow-edge-tracking control of the

solar protection and sun-tracking control of horizontal

or vertical blind slats.

With shadow-edge-tracking control, the solar

protection is lowered far enough so that the sun can

only shine into the room for a certain distance (for

example, 20 in. [50 cm]), which can be set by a

parameter. This allows the occupant of the room to

look out through the lower part of the window, and

plants on the windowsill can receive sunshine.

With sun-tracking control, the slats of externally-

mounted blinds are adjusted according to the position

of the sun so that sunlight cannot shine directly into the

room, but diffused daylight can still contribute to room

illumination. Sun-tracking control reduces heat influx

into the room and reduces electricity costs for room

lighting.
