The KNX/DALI devices support luminaires that are used in normal
operation, as emergency lighting and also as emergency luminaires
powered by individual batteries. If emergency luminaires are used
in normal operation, the error messages can be suppressed during
the emergency light test if the electronic ballasts are disconnected.
If emergency luminaires powered by individual batteries according
to IEC 62386-202 are used, the specified self-tests are supported and
the test results are either transmitted via KNX or stored permanently
in internal memory. Stored test results can be outputted and archived
using ETS.

KNX/DALI gateway Twin plus
KNX allows the DALI lighting system to be fully integrated into a
building automation system via a DALI or KNX interface. The use
of brightness sensors that have an integrated DALI interface is an
efficient approach, especially when pendant lights are used, since
the sensor in the luminaire only has to be connected to DALI.
The KNX/DALI gateway Twin plus also has built-in constant light
control which allows one main luminaire group and up to four
secondary luminaire groups to be controlled for energy-efficient,
demand-based lighting in the rooms.
Switching to standby mode improves energy efficiency
Luminaires with electronic ballasts usually need a rest current even
when the lighting system is turned off or is in standby mode. The en-
ergy consumed adds up and can be saved using the KNX/DALI gateway
Twin plus by automatically cutting off power to the electronic ballasts.
After the lighting is turned off and once the electronic ballasts are
no longer needed for lighting, the ballasts can be disconnected from
the power supply by a deactivation command from a switch actuator
controlled for this purpose. If one or more luminaires are in operation,
the switch actuator first restores power to the electronic ballast, and
the gateway dims the luminaire to the required brightness level.
