Lighting and shading depending
on demand
Lighting and shading are controlled in
a way that daylight is used wherever
possible – without glare. To achieve this,
the slats of the blinds are automatically
adjusted to the sun path, or constant light
control ensures that the amount of artifi-
cial light provided for the rooms is meets
exactly the demand for light. Naturally,
lighting can always be controlled manu-
ally, if required.
If certain sections of the production plant
are not used, lighting is dimmed or com-
pletely switched off. Usage of plant can
be detected by presence detectors, preset
via a scheduler program, or controlled
manually. In corridors and walking zones,
lighting can be switched off outside the
main usage times, depending on presence.
If people are not present during the sched-
uled main usage times, lighting can be
reduced to a minimum.
Room temperature depending on usage
Heating and air conditioning costs repre-
sent the major part of a building’s oper-
ating costs. GAMMA instabus lowers
these costs significantly by providing full
heating, ventilation, or air conditioning
only when the relevant spaces are used.
Scheduling is possible according to main
usage times, room-related occupancy
plans or manual settings.
When windows are left open, heating is
automatically reduced to the frost protec-
tion level and the air conditioning system
operates at a reduced level. In the eve-
ning – if desired – “Central off“ ensures
reduced operation of heating, ventilation
or air conditioning of all building sectors
that are no longer used.
Complex requirements call for
particularly intelligent solutions.
For this reason, Siemens offers
a universal system, especially
developed for the requirements
of production halls.
Economic efficiency
pays off
Constant light control in-
cluding the use of daylight
ensures that the amount of
light provided meets exactly
the demand – less light near
the windows, more light
near the walls.
