Preventing is better than reacting
Corridor lighting is switched depending
on demand, which means that it always
ensures the right level of brightness.
Also, outdoor and pathways lighting can
be switched depending on brightness,
movement or time, thus ensuring it is
always on when needed. This means that
accidents resulting from insufficient
lighting are prevented.
Nothing left to chance
At night, the building control system
switches automatically to a secure state:
Lights off, power outlets for printers and
other
consumers off, monitoring active.
Windows, blinds, or doors accidentally left
open appear on the display and, if required,
access control can be integrated into
GAMMA instabus.
If intrusion alarm is integrated and an
alarm is triggered, the lights are automati-
cally switched on and the blinds are raised
to a predefined position.
Emergencies
Security and escape route lighting (as per
VDE 0108) ensures that staircases and
emergency exits are clearly indicated. In
corridors, security lighting is provided by
the normal lighting system which, in the
event of a power failure, switches immedi-
ately to emergency lighting, thus making
certain that sufficient light is available for
people to leave the corridors.
If a storm approaches, the blinds are
raised and the skylights are shut.
In the building infrastructure
security plays an important
role – to protect people and
assets and to avoid damage
plus consequential costs.
