Changing ring tones
u Volume:
You can choose between five volumes (1–
5; e.g. volume 3 = Š) and the "cre-
scendo" ring (6; volume increases with
each ring = ).
u Ring tones:
You can select various ring tones, melo-
dies or any sound from the resource
directory (
¢ page 43).
You can set different ring tones for the fol-
lowing functions:
u Extern. Calls: for external calls
u Intern. Calls: for internal calls
u Appts: for set appointments

Set the volume and melody depending on
the type of signalling required.
In idle status:

q Select setting, e.g. Extern. Calls,
and press
§OK§.
r Set volume (1–6).
s Scroll to the next line.
r Select melody.
§Save§ Press the display key to save the
setting.
Additionally for external calls:
After entering a ring tone, you can select a
period of time during which your telephone
is not to ring, e.g. at night.
Time Control:
Select On or Off.
Mute ring tone from:
Enter the start of the period in 4-digit for-
mat.
Mute ring tone until:
Enter the end of the period in 4-digit for-
mat.
Activating/deactivating the ring
tone
You can deactivate the ring tone on your
handset before you answer a call or when
the handset is in idle status; the ring tone
can be deactivated permanently or only for
the current call. The ring tone cannot be re-
activated while an external call is in progress.

* Press and hold the star key.

* Press and hold the star key.
Deactivating the ring tone for the

§Silence§ Press the display key.
Activating/deactivating the alert
tone
In place of the ring tone you can activate an
alert tone. When you get a call, you will hear
a short tone ("Beep") instead of the ring
tone.
* Press and hold the star key and
within 3 seconds:
§Beep§§ Press the display key. A call will
now be signalled by one short
alert tone.
The

Please note
Your telephone will ring during this time
period for callers to whom you have
assigned your own melody in the direc-
tory (VIP).
