1 Introduction
About this document
This document describes how to install and operate the migration tool. The tool helps
read values from the ADP database and provide them for import into the InfoCenter
database in the form of csv files.
1.1 Prerequisites
Operating system
Windows2000-SP 4 is required for .NET-CLR version 1.1. The .NET runtime
environment is provided on the CD and will be installed automatically as needed.
Database compatibility
The migration tool is compatible with the following database versions from ADP and
InfoCenter:
• ADP V1.8 and higher using Oracle databases
• InfoCenter V1.3.1.7
- DESIGO INSIGHT import definitions file format.
- IC Patch 2 is required if the tool is used to create the data point name mapping file.
- No ValueLog migration possible
• InfoCenter V1.5.0.19
- Update 1 is required if ValueLogs are to be migrated
ADOBE Acrobat Reader
ADOBE Acrobat Reader must be installed.
ODBC data source name
The ODBC data source name (DSN) connection strings must be set up to connect to
the ADP and InfoCenter databases.
Note:
• For ADP, use only ORACLE ODBC driver by DataDirect.
• Install an InfoCenter client application for InfoCenter.
Setup for InfoCenter Start the setup to extend the store process on the computer containing the InfoCenter
database. The setup is available on the migration tool installation CD.
