UniTrak™
Sash Sensors
UniTrak™ sash sensor strips are used in conjunction with the sash sensor actuator to
measure the position of the fume hood sash. The UniTrak™ Sensor Assembly Kit contains
the hardware to complete one fume hood sensor assembly (Figure 5). Fume hoods with
multiple vertical sashes, including walk-in fume hoods, require multiple UniTrak kits. The
sensor is a resistive strip that has a varying resistance as the sash is closed. The sensor is
completely sealed, made from highly chemical resistant hardened polyester and covered with
a protective outer shield. See Figure 5 through Figure 7. Calibration of the sensor is done
during installation. After installation, the sensor should never need to be recalibrated.
CAUTION:
Plastic solvents may destroy the sash sensor. The sash sensor can be cleaned
with a soft cloth and an all-purpose cleaner.
Do not touch the sash sensor with sharp or pointed objects. These objects may
destroy the sash sensor.
