Sash Sensor Actuator
UniTrak™ sensors have built-in sensor strip actuators: the horizontal UniTrak™ has two and
the vertical UniTrak™ has one. The actuators (see Figure 8) ride along the sensor strip to
vary the resistance reading to the Fume Hood Controller. The resistance reading is then used
to determine the sash positions.

Laboratory Exhaust Air Terminal (Damper)
The Laboratory Exhaust Air Terminal is a pre-packaged, easy to install, airflow measurement
and control station. See Figure 9. It combines an orifice plate flow sensor, differential
pressure transmitter, an electronic actuator assembly, or No. 3 pneumatic damper actuator,
and Analog Output-Pneumatic (AO-P) Module, and butterfly damper in a 20 gauge 316
stainless steel duct section.
This arrangement provides fast acting, stable, and precise VAV fume hood exhaust airflow
control.
The terminal is available in diameters ranging from 4 to 18 inches. The terminal is available in
a variety of end configurations to match the ductwork construction. It is also available in
TEFLON
®
coated 18-gauge steel for highly corrosive environments.
