Product Description
The Retracting Cable Sash Sensors are compact,
economical and water resistant devices with flexible
cables, spring-loaded spools and a potentiometer to
detect and measure linear position.

Required Tools
 Small flat blade screwdriver
 3/8-inch open end wrench
 Needle nose pliers
Prerequisites
 For retrofit installations, notify the laboratory
safety officer that you will be working in the fume
hood. Take the necessary precautions to have
the fume hood cleaned, prepared and safety
certified.
 For best appearance, mount the sensor so that
the cable passes on the inside of the sash.
 The surface on which you mount the sensor
spool should be smooth, flat, clean, and free of
obstacles such as rivets, screw heads, nozzles,
sash stops, and abrasives. Some installations
may require fabrication of additional struts or
brackets, not included.
 Mount the sensor on the fume hood structure,
outside of the area with chemical or corrosive
fumes.
 Mount in a location accessible for service and
replacement.
