6 Performance Testing:
Before any performance tests are run, the cabinet shall be properly installed and
leveled and airflows adjusted to the nominal set point (± 3.0 ft/min [± 0.015 m/s]).
These tests are intended for the qualification of a new cabinet model by the testing
organization. The testing organization also requires and performs appropriate tests
during periodic requalification. Cabinet models undergoing major redesign shall be
requalified.
Tests Include:
Pressure Decay / Soap Bubble / Tracer Gas Leak Tests, HEPA Filter Leak test, Noise
Level, Lighting intensity, Vibration, Personnel, Product, and Cross-Contamination
Protection, Stability, Downflow Velocity, Inflow Velocity, Airflow Smoke Patterns,
Drain Spillage Trough Leakage, Motor/Blower Performance, Electrical Safety,
Performance Data, and Maintenance Records.
