Efficient lighting control
with KNX and DALI
KNX/DALI gateways by Siemens connect KNX installations and DALI lighting controls
and thus form the basis for new design options.
The color temperature included in scenes, and effects* and schedules* makes it possible to use the
KNX/DALI gateways in Human Centric Lighting applications without requiring external KNX devices.

The specification of the DALI communi-
cation interface is set out in interna-
tional standard IEC 62386.
The individual ECGs in the system are
addressed either on the basis of the
short address (individual control) or
on the basis of a DALI group address
(group addressing).
For this purpose, any number of
ECGs of a line can be assigned to
up to 16 DALI groups.
The KNX/DALI gateway plus also includes
an embedded constant lighting control
that can be used to control a main lighting
group and up to four sub-lighting groups
for which requirement-specific and
energy-efficient lighting in rooms.
