When setting the High Calibration Point value, note that echoes are ignored within Near Range
(2.2.1.11).
8.5.12 Limit Sensor Value (2.2.1.8.)
When On, limits the sensor value to the range between Low Calibration Point and High
Calibration Point.
Options ON, OFF. Default: On
8.5.13 Near Range (2.2.1.12.)
The range in front of the device (measured from the sensor reference point) within which any
echoes will be ignored, defined in sensor units. This is sometimes referred to as blanking or a
dead zone. The factory setting is 50 mm past the end of the horn and the range is dependent
on the horn type and any extensions.
Values
Factor Defaults
2" horn 0.21 m (8.43")
3" horn 0.28 m (10.95")
4" horn 0.34 m (13.19")
Range: 0 to 30 m
8.5.14 Far Range (2.2.1.13.)
Allows the material level to drop below Low Calibration Point without generating a Loss of Echo
(LOE) state. Unit is defined in Sensor units. See 2.2.1.5. Operation for an illustration.
Options
Range: 5 to 31.5 m
Min. = Low Calibration
Pt.
Max. for 2" horn = 13 m
(42.65 ft)
Max. for 3" horn = 23 m
(75.46 ft)
Max. for 4" horn = 31 m
(103.35 ft)
Default: Value for Low Calibration Pt. + 1 m (3.28 ft)
Use this feature if the measured surface can drop below the Low Cal. Point in normal operation.
