8.5.16.8 Noise (2.2.4.5.)
Echo Confidence (2.2.4.5.1.)
Indicates echo reliability. It displays the echo confidence of the last measurement. Echo
Threshold defines the Echo Confidence minimum criterion for echo confidence. Echo
confidence must be greater than Echo Threshold to be accepted as valid and evaluated for an
echo.
Values (view only) 0 to 99 dB
---- Shot not used
Related Parameters 2.2.4.1.3. Echo Threshold
In PDM, open the menu View – Echo Profile.
2.2.4.5.2. Echo Strength
Displays the absolute strength (in dB above 1 µV rms) of the echo selected as the measurement
echo.
Values (view only) –20 to 99 dB
In PDM, open the menu View – Echo Profile.
Noise Average (2.2.4.5.3.)
Displays the average ambient noise (in dB above 1 µV rms) of a noise profile (view only). Noise
level is a combination of transient noise and receiving circuitry. After a measurement, the
values from the previous noise shot will be displayed.
8.5.17 TVT (Auto False Echo Suppression) setup (TVT SETUP) (2.2.5.)
First SITRANS LR260 learns the echo profile. Then the learned profile, or part of the learned
profile, is used to screen out false echoes. See Before and After Auto False Echo Suppression.
(Page 87)
8.5.18 TVT Hover Level (2.2.5.1.)
Defines how high the TVT (Time Varying Threshold) curve is placed above the noise floor of the
echo profile, as a percentage of the difference between the peak of the largest echo in the
profile and the noise floor. When SITRANS LR260 is located in the center of the vessel, the TVT
hover level may be lowered to increase the confidence level of the largest echo. (For an
illustration of the TVT curve see Before Auto False Echo Suppression (Page 87).)
Values Range: 0 to 100%
Default: 33%
