Barber-Colma
n Network 8000 Driver for TC Modular
These installation instructio n s cover the connec tio n
of the Barber-Colman Network 8000 Driver to
the Barber-Colman Barber-Colman System. For
hardware installation of the TC Modular, see
document number 553-654.
Product Description
The Barber-Colman Network 8000 Driver enables
communication between the TALON
®
Automation
System and the Barber-Colman devices. This is done
by removing the Barber-Colman GC M and rep la cing
it with the Barber-Colman Network 8000 Driver,
allowing the driver to co ntro l the Barb e r-Colman ASD
bus.
LCM block function a lity and LCM bus
integration are not supported with the
Barber-Colman Network 8000 Driver.

Driver License.

Required Tools and Materials
• Flat-blade screwdriver (1/8-inch blade width).
• Wire stripp
ers.
• Cabling and connectors. See the Connecting
the Barber-Colman Network 8000 Driver to the
Barber-Colman System section.
CAUTION:
Always wear an electro-static discharge
wrist strap and dis ch arge a ccumulated
static before touching field panel
components.
Prerequisites
• Driver h ardware is installed according to its
respective installa tio n instruct ions.
•FLNTermi
nation blocks ins talled, if any.
Depending on the type of installation, oth er
prerequisites may have to be completed.
