Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver on the TC Series Platform
Functionality
Notes on System Architecture
The Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver with Firmware 3.
x
(Figure 1) supports the
following:
● BACnet MS/TP or BACnet/IP ALN on Firmware 3.
x
.
If the driver is on a BACnet MS/TP network, you can use a standard field panel
with Firmware Revision 3.1 or later as a router to connect to a BACnet
workstation. Do not use an Integration Driver as the router.
● A maximum of 96 devices.
● Three physical FLNs (FLN 1 through FLN 3), which can be used for connecting
and addressing Johnson Controls N2 Master devices on RS-485 FLNs on a TC
Modular.
● 3 virtual FLNs (4 through 6) for mapping devices 4 through 6.
● TX-I/O Modules.
● Maximum of 8,000 TALON points per driver.
Functionality
The Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver provides communication between the
Siemens Automation System and the Johnson Controls N2 Master system.
The Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver can be loaded into TC Modular hardware.
The driver is a microprocessor-based, multi-tasking platform designed for multi-
system communication and control. The Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver
communicates with TALON View software, other TALON field panels and controllers,
and the JCI N2 Master devices plus the TALON Automation System.
Through the TALON View workstation, the Johnson Controls points can be monitored
and commanded. The Johnson Controls points integrated into the TALON Automation
System can be accessed by system applications, such as Powers Process Control
Language (PPCL), scheduling, trending, and alarming.
The Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver will not affect, in any way, the operating
sequence or safeties as factory-programmed into the JCI N2 Master devices plus the
TALON Automation System.
NOTE:
BACnet Field Panel Web Server licenses LSM-FPWEB.T, LSM-FPWEBPL.T and
LSM-FPWEBPLHST.T are now retired. Launch Pad must be used instead and is
available for free download from the Partner Extranet Web site.
Keys to Success
Ensure that all Johnson Controls equipment to be integrated is supported by the
Johnson Controls N2 Master Driver.
