Notes on System Architecture
The Veeder-Root Enterprise Driver provides
communica tio n between the AP OGEE
®
Automation
System and a distributed network of local and/or
remote Veeder-Root TLS systems via serial or Ethernet
(Intranet/Internet) topology.
A large number of Veeder-Root TLS controllers can be
accessed with one driver, with the maximum number
dependent upon the total number of integrated points
that are desired.
Functionality
The Veeder-Root Enterprise Driver can be loaded into
Ethernet-enabled MBC Open Processor and MEC
hardware. The driver is a microprocessor-based,
multitasking platform designed for multi-system
communication and control. It communicates with
Insight
®
software, other AP OGEE field panels and
controllers, and the Veeder-Root system.
Through the Insight workstation, the Veeder-Root points
can be monitored and commanded. The Veeder-Root
points integrated into the APOGEE Automation System
can be accessed by system applications such as Powers
Process Control Language, scheduling, trending, and
alarming.
The Veeder-Root Enterprise Driver will not affect, in
any way, the operating sequence or safeties as factory
programmed into the Veeder-Root system.
Keys to Success
Ensure that all Veeder-Root equipment to be integrated
is supported by the Veeder-Root Enterprise Driver.
Verify that any Veeder-Root TLS systems to be integrated
via Ethernet are equipped with the Veeder-Root TCP/IP
card.
