INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND WIRING FOR
CAT. NO. CT-1K CITY TIE BOARD
The CT-1K City Tie Board is an optional module for the MPC-6000, MPC-7000 and RND-2 Fire Alarm
System Control Unit. The City Tie Board provides local energy and polarity reversal connections. The
polarity reversal connections provide a trouble circuit and an alarm circuit with optional trouble output. The
City Tie Board is mounted on the Main Board. The trouble outputs of the two polarity reversal circuits are
interconnected and the control unit may be programmed to send trouble, supervisory or either.

Step 3.) Set jumper J2 for proper operation.
J2 – REVERSE POLARITY ALARM CIRCUIT
ALARM
ALARM WITH TROUBLE
When J2 is set at “Alarm With Trouble”, the “CA”
terminals will measure 0 VDC when trouble is
detected and no alarm is present on the system.
Step 4.) Mount City Tie Board as shown, using four
spacers (P/N 375-F943165) to the Main Board.
NOTE: Check to see that the header and
connectors are mated properly.
Step 5.) Attach ground wire as shown, using #6-32 Keps
Nut (P/N 899-G67197) to backbox stud.
For the MPC-6000 and MPC-7000 use the nearest
main board mounting screw as shown.
Step 6.) If the local energy circuit is not used, connect the
3.9K ohm E.O.L. Resistor Assembly (P/N 140-
050008-2) across terminals LE1 and LE2.
Step 7.) Attach conduit and run wires as required.
Step 8.) Connect wires to the fire alarm system control unit
