INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS AND WIRING FOR
CAT. NO. NEM-1 NAC EXPANSION BOARD
The NEM-1 NAC Expansion Board is an optional module for the MPC-7000 Fire Alarm System Control
Unit. The NAC Expansion Board provides 8 Class B (Style Y) NACs that may be paired together to
provide 4 Class A (Style Z) NACs. One NEM-1 NAC Expansion Board may be mounted in the enclosure
above the Main Termination Board or the LEM-1 Loop Expander Board if one is present.

Step 1.) Installation is to be done by qualified personnel
who have thoroughly read and understood this
instruction sheet.
Step 2.) Disconnect BATTERY and AC prior to working on
equipment.
Step 3.) Mount NAC Expansion Board with six screws (P/N
906-220604) as shown.
NOTE: The NAC Expansion Board connector
J1 must be aligned and engaged with connector
J8 on the Main Termination Board or with
connector J4 on the LEM-1 Loop Expansion
Board.
Step 4.) Use the following table to configure the NACs for
either Class A or Class B operation. This must be
configured before system power-up.

Step 5.) Attach conduit and run wires as required.
Step 6.) Make sure field wiring is free and clear of opens
and shorts.
Step 7.) Connect wires to the fire alarm system control unit
as required.
Step 8.) Connect the + and of terminal block TB5 to the +
and of terminal block TB2 on the main
termination board using 12-14 gauge wire.
Step 9.) Apply power to system.
Step 10.) Check for proper operation of functions.
Module operating current: 250mA max. (does not include
NAC power)
Standby NAC operating current: 15mA
Alarm operating current: 8A max. (with optional NPE-1)
Voltage: 24V Nominal, Unfiltered,
Full Wave Rectified (31V max.)
NOTES:
1.) Units to be installed in accordance with all local
electrical codes.
2.) Terminal blocks will accept a maximum of #12
AWG wiring.
3.) See Owners Manual (P/N 315-447309) for
compatible devices and ground fault impedance
thresholds.
