5.11 Using PCO2001
● Connect extension card 'OUT Relay extension (8)' via the RS232 jack or
Phoenix connector.
● Only one extension is supported per matrix.
● RXa, TXa, and GNDa are all available, but RXb, TXb, and GNDb are reserved
for future use.
● The relay extension is only configured during the start time.
The extension card is connected via RS232 or the Phoenix connector.
1. Open the 'Basic Station Configuration' menu.
2. Enable the 'DigIOExt' flag in row 'Configured HW'.
3. Enable the 'ExtUART' flag in row 'Station Features'.
4. Open 'Peripherals and Supervision'.
5. Select protocol 'DigitalIO Extension'.
6. Check that the UART baud rate setting = 19200.
7. Restart the matrix.
The matrix contains additional entries in the 'Logic Output Configuration' menu.
Checking the matrix/relay extension communication
1. Open the 'Peripherals and Supervision' page.
2. Check that 'RxCount' and 'TxCount' are not zero.
3. If 'RXCount' = 0' is displayed, check whether the RX and TX connections have
been wired incorrectly.
5.12 Using PCIO2001
The default ID of the IOExpander module is ID 10. The ID is listed as 'I/O Id=10' in
the 'PACE-Bus' module drop-down list on the 'PACE-Bus' tab of the 'Peripherals
and Supervision' page.
1. Open the 'Basic Station Configuration' menu.
2. Under 'Station Features', check whether flag 'ExtUART' is enabled.
3. Open 'Peripherals and Supervision'.
4. Select the 'PACE-Bus Protocol' for the protocol.
5. Set the baud rate to 19200.
Matrix 4/16 displays additional entries on the 'Logic Output Configuration' tab.
