4 Topologies
The Cerberus PACE Compact voice alarm and announcement system can be
planned in different network topologies. Many network topologies are possible.
Each audio matrix has two Ethernet ports for a redundant connection to the
network.
Audio matrices cannot be directly interconnected via the Ethernet ports. Ethernet
switches are always required.
Extremely small systems without a network call station but with only one audio
matrix do not require an Ethernet switch. To configure this audio matrix, the
computer can be connected directly to the audio matrix Ethernet port without an
Ethernet switch.
4.1 Chain topology
The chain topology meets the requirements of the standard EN 54-16.
The Ethernet switches are connected to one another.
One single connection error does not result in an overall failure.
The chain topology can consist of a maximum of 32 hubs.
Each audio matrix and each network participant are connected redundantly via the
Ethernet ports to two Ethernet switches A and B.
The Ethernet switches A and B of the central network distribution hub (3) are
connected to build a redundant network.
