8.1.1 Network connection
Copper Ethernet cable (CAT5) connection to the control panel with Ethernet Switch
PN2005-A1 or PN1001-A1, maximum 100 m.
Repeater PNA2007-A1 allows a copper Ethernet cable (CAT5) extension of 100 m.
An extension of 100 m per PNA2007-A1. Each repeater in the network is
considered an Ethernet switch and increases the number of 'radio links' by one
'radio link'.
Alternative options for connecting to the control panel:
● Conversion of copper Ethernet cable (CAT5) to fiber-optic cable in single-mode
or multi-mode
– Conversion of CAT5 to fiber-optic cable in the 19'' cabinet with adapter
PNA2002-A1, or PN1001-A1/PNA2003-A1 on the Ethernet switch PN2005-
A1, with free SFP connection
– If the SFP connections on the PN2005-A1 are occupied, convert the CAT5
to fiber-optic cable with media converter PN2007-A1
● Conversion of fiber-optic cable to copper Ethernet cable (CAT5)
– Conversion at PT2001-A1 and PT2002-A1 with media converter PN2007-
A1
● In high reliable life safety systems, use a redundant network wiring for PT2001-
A1 or PT2002-A1
