The project
The G1 Group is a leisure business and
hotel chain owner in Scotland with 40
venues throughout the country. In
Edinburgh alone, they have three hotels,
two restaurants and a nightclub. The
Cabaret Voltaire and the Grassmarket
Hotel in particular, were having severe
problems with false alarms. A highly reli-
able fire detection system was needed for
the protection of guests, employees and
assets that wouldn’t continue triggering
false alarms.
The challenge
In places like hotels and nightclubs, many
people are typically present. Therefore, it
is of the utmost importance to ensure the
highest level of safety at all times. A fire
can result in great damage and financial
loss – but constant false alarms upset
the guests. Both events have a negative
effect on a company’s reputation. Due
to the old fire detection system regularly
triggering false alarms, the G1 Group
decided to invest in new systems. The
