Startup Procedures
Setting Up SED2 VFD Parameters
See SED2 VFD Operation & Maintenance Manual (Document No. 125-3202) for procedures to
commission and start up the SED2 VFD.
Table 1 lists the SED2 parameter settings that are required for correct communications and
control of the SED2 VFD with a LON Interface Option.
CAUTION:
Changes made to the parameters other than what is listed in Table 1 can result in damaging
the drive or building equipment.
Table 1. Required SED2 VFD Parameter Settings for Operation of LON Interface Option.
Parameter Number/Name Value
P0003: User access Level
Set to 3 to allow access to required parameters. (Reset back
to the original value after adjustments are done.)
P2040: CB telegram off time
Set to 0 (watchdog disabled) to tell the SED2 VFD to start
looking for communications.
P2041 (index 0): CB parameter
Set to 1 for FLN (L
ONWorks) network control.
Unit must be powered down to establish
communications; then the address can
be assigned.
The address returns to the default of 99 when the drive is
powered down. *
P0918: CB address setting for LON
Interface Option.
Set to 3 for addressing of the device.
P0700 (index 0): Verify settings. This is
usually done during the Quick
Commissioning procedure.
Set to 6 tells the SED2 VFD to look for a start command via
L
ON in the auto mode.
P1000 (index 0): Verify settings. This is
usually done during the Quick
Commissioning procedure.
Set to 6 tells the SED2 VFD to look for its speed source via
L
ON in the auto mode.
* Only true of the original revision software; new revision software now enables the SED2 VFD to
store the programmed address after a power loss.
