• You cannot edit process data (for example, entering setpoints, controlling
commands, and sensing actual values).
NOTE: When setting parameters in offline mode, EasyComm monitors the
allowable limit values (minimum and maximum values) for the drive, with
the exception of those parameters that depend on the rated drive output.
To change from offline mode to online mode, do one of the following:
1. From the View menu, click Online (Ram)
or Online (EEPROM).
2. Click on the desired online toolbar icon.
Online (RAM)
Online operation with the drive is possible if communications have been established
between the computer and drive. In online (RAM) mode, changes to parameter
values are immediate and directly effective in the drive’s RAM. In addition, you can
monitor actual values and command setpoints.
CAUTION: Online (RAM) parameter values are
not saved if the drive power cycles off and then on
In online (RAM) mode, the device status field indicates an “ok” on a green
background (ok) and the adjacent text message displays Connection with
device ok.
In online (RAM) mode:
• All parameter values are read from the drive.
• Parameter changes are written into the drive’s RAM.
• You can upload a parameter set file from the drive.
• You can generate a new parameter set by uploading the parameter set from the
drive.
• You can download a parameter set file to the drive.
• You can edit process data (for example, entering setpoints, controlling
commands, and sensing actual values).
NOTE: When setting parameters in online (RAM) mode, Easy Comm
monitors the allowable limit values (minimum and maximum values)
for the drive, including those parameters that depend on the rated
drive output.
