Product Description
The EMC Filter cleans the three-phase power input
to a SED2 VFD Bypass to meet FCC compliance.

994-972 EMC Filter for NEMA Type 3R Bypass
enclosure size DE and F.

This equipment generates, uses and

installed and used in accordance with
the instruction manual, may cause
interference to radio communications.
Operation of this equipment in a
residential area may cause
interference. At their own expense,
users will be required to take
whatever measures to correct the
interference.
Main short circuit protection and
disconnect by others. Branch circuit
protection to be provided by installer
per UL508A, if not provided with drive
package.
NOTE: The NEMA Type 3R Bypass with EMC
Filter has been tested and found to comply
with the limits for a Class A digital device,
pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC rules.
These limits are designed to provide
reasonable protection against such
interference when operated in a
commercial environment.
Prerequisites
SED2 VFD Bypass must be previously installed.
Installation
Filter Installation
See Figures 1 through 5. Install EMC Filter in Bypass
enclosure.
NOTE: Mounting hardware provided by others.
CAUTION:
Make certain disconnect switch in
Bypass enclosure is OFF.
Make certain 3-phase line power
supply is OFF or disconnected.
Wiring
See Figures 3 through 6.
NOTE: Wire supplied by others. Wire must comply
with UL, NEC, and local standards.
CAUTION:
Make certain disconnect switch in
Bypass enclosure is OFF.
Make certain 3-phase line power
supply is OFF or disconnected.
Only personnel certified to work with
high voltage 3-phase line power are
to complete wiring.
1. Route and connect input power wiring to
Disconnect.
2. Route and connect wiring from Disconnect to
EMC Filter.
