Control Board Upgrade for SED2 VFD
(Version 1.17, 1.20, and 1.30 to Version 1.4x)

Description
These installation instructions describe how to
exchange a Version 1.17, 1.20, and 1.30 Control
Board (V1.17, V1.20, and V1.30) of a SED2 Variable
Frequency Drive (VFD) with a Version 1.4x Control
Board (V1.4x).
Product Numbers
SED2-CBV140, includes control board with Version
1.4x firmware already installed.

Required Tools
• Small flat-blade screwdriver
• Torx T20 driver
• Small needle-nose pliers
• Basic Operator Panel (BOP)/Advanced
Operator Panel (AOP)
Expected Installation Time
25 minutes
Record Parameter Settings
If parameter settings are not recorded, drive will
need to be completely re-commissioned and start-up
procedures performed.
Manually Record Parameter Set
Record drive specific parameter settings from
BOP/AOP in the Parameter List section at the end of
this document.
NOTE: For drives with bypass, settings of P0748
and P0704 must be recorded.
Upload (Upread) Parameter Set
Use an AOP to upload a parameter set from a SED2
and store that parameter set in the internal memory
of the AOP. See the SED2 VFD Advanced Operator
Panel (AOP) Operating Instructions, Document
Number 125-3206 for more details on AOP
operation.
1. From the main menu, use
and to scroll
through the list of options and to highlight the
Upread item.
Press
to confirm the selection. Press to
cancel the upload process.
The AOP displays an upload/upread menu.
2. Use
and to scroll through the list of
parameter sets and to highlight the parameter
set into which information will be written.
Press
to confirm the selection.
NOTES:
• If the selected parameter set already
contains information, the AOP prompts to
clear the existing parameter set.
• Simultaneously press
and when
uploading to delete the existing parameter
set.
3. The AOP prompts for confirmation.
Press
to confirm the process. Press to
cancel the upload process.
The AOP displays a wait screen while the
upload process occurs.
4. On completion of the upload process, the AOP
returns to the main menu.
