1 Introduction
The Cerberus D100 Stage III is designed as an integrated, modular danger alarm system sui-
table for networking and various danger types as well as complex control facilities.
Cerberus D100 Stage III conforms to CE requirements. It contains the components S-module,
M-module, PS support SS, optional module as well as BF88 (incl. SIGMASYS commands)
and DT1000. The DC1010 floor cabinet is designed to accommodate these components.
The system includes modules, various types of detectors, and performance features such as
networking as well as parameterization and diagnostic tools.
The purpose of the Cerberus D100 Stage III danger alarm system is to detect and indicate
alarms and, if applicable, to trip alerting facilities, routing equipment and automatic fire protec-
tion facilities (e.g. extinguishing systems).
1.1 About the manual
These planning instructions refer to the Cerberus D100 Stage III with direct connection
of the SIGMASYS control and indicating panels or modules to S-module.
The planning instructions for Cerberus D100, A24205-A334-A859 (current edition), should
be used in predecessor systems which are coupled using SIGMALINK.
1.1.1 Target group
These planning instructions for Cerberus D100 Stage III are aimed at supporting the plan-
ners/sales staff in the DU (Divisional Unit, Region/ZN) performing the installation and whose
job it is to plan Cerberus D100 Stage III for the customer.
These planning instructions are intended for the Cerberus D100 Stage III planner. Be-
fore using them the planner should have attended the planning courses for the D100 and
SIGMASYS M systems in the Training Center (SGT TC), gained some planning experience
and been trained in the functionality of the systems.
The personnel who will be installing and commissioning the systems must also be appropri-
ately trained. In accordance with the guidelines of the Association of German Underwriters
(VdS), danger alarm systems may only be installed by recognized personnel. The Training
Center offers the relevant training courses.

Chapter 1 ‘Introduction’ contains general information about this manual, as well as other rele-
vant information.
Chapter 2 ‘Guidelines and information contains general information on standards and the
system structure.
Chapter 3 ‘Basics’ provides an overview of Cerberus D100 Stage III and its components as
well as further information.
Chapter 4 ‘Planning Cerberus D100 Stage III’ contains all of the information required to plan
Cerberus D100 Stage III if there are no predecessor systems to take into consideration.
Chapter 5 ‘Upgrading existing systems to Cerberus D100 Stage III’ contains all of the
information required to plan Cerberus D100 Stage III if there are predecessor systems to take
into consideration.
