4 Planning Cerberus D100 Stage III
Special remarks
Enhanced performance
A further improvement in performance can be achieved by using the 230 V/ 24 V/ 20 A trans-
former (V24213-Z130-A1) in the PS support SS.
There is however a connection restriction: In order to comply with the requirements of stan-
dard EN61000-3-2:1995/A14:2000 (limit values for harmonic current emissions), a single li-
cense or connection permit must be obtained before the 20 A transformer is connected to the
relevant utility company. This approach is permitted since the 24 V/ 20 A PS cartridge is a
piece of professional equipment which is not widely used (in accordance with EN61000-3-2,
point 4. General information).
Shunting the 230 V / 24 V / 20 A transformer allows 40 A to be converted in two PS supports
SS, which means that performance can be increased to 960 W. This approach can be used to
supply even complex multi-node systems, however there are conditions attached to it and it
requires consultation with SGS F C (Application Group).
This configuration is no longer permitted for new systems for reasons related to prod-
uct safety/low voltage directive.
Supply of voltage to external units
It can be necessary to provide a separate power supply for external units to ensure protection
against interferences. The individual power supply conversion kit permits a clear separation of
the system voltage to the supply voltage to external components into a PS support SS with a
150 W power supply and a system distributor.
