Description
The RPP2-58 Thin Line Proximity Card Reader
provides performance and reliability with a low profile
appearance. Housed in a two-piece enclosure, the
RPP2-58 passive proximity card reader is potted for
weather and hazard proofing. This industry-standard
sized switch plate enclosure eases installation and
maintenance with the use of replaceable covers. The
RPP2-58 thin line reader is now available in white,
beige, charcoal gray and black to match virtually any
office decor.
The RPP2-58 thin line reader provides high reliability,
consistent read range characteristics, and low power
consumption is a single, easy-to-install package.
Standard capabilities include multicolor LED and
internal control or systems control of the LED and
beeper. The reader will mount on a single-gang
electrical box, and can be mounted directly on metal
with minimal impact on the read range performance.

The RPP2-58 reader is designed to mount on a single-

When a proximity card is presented to the reader, the
red LED flashes green and the beeper sounds. The
multicolor LED and beeper can also be controlled
locally or by the system.

On reader power-up, an internal self-test routine
checks and verifies the setup configuration,
determines the internal or external control of the LED
and beeper, and initialized the reader operation. An
additional external loop-back test allows for the reader
outputs and inputs to be verified without the use of
additional test equipment.
