Port of external horn
(LPTx)
The external horn is an optional hardware device that emits a loud sound when an
event arises in the system. When no external horn is installed, the internal PC speaker
has the same function, but the sound is not very loud and in a noisy environment it
can go unnoticed. The external horn must be connected to a parallel port. This soft-
ware option lets you configure the parallel port to which the horn is connected.
The following values are accepted by the system:
Disable operator log-in When this software option is enabled (i.e. the flag is set to Y) LMS will not require a
login to begin operation. It will constantly be operational, and the access level of the
operator will be fixed at 0 (configured by default as NOP operator). The default value
for this software option is N: the operator, whatever his access level is, must log in to
use LMS.
Station active without
operator
When this software option is enabled (i.e. the flag is set to Y) the five event windows
and the external horn will function even when no operator is logged on to the system.
The default value for this software option is N.
Error Sensitivity This software option is used during system test. You can set a threshold of error sen-
sitivity, which lets you selectively discard errors according to their relevance for the
system. The default value is set to 0 and shouldn’t be changed unless Cerberus Dati
Customer Support service advises you to do so.
Logging messages not
valid
This software option is used to print out communication error conditions. The available
values are 0 (no message is printed even if an error occurs), 1 (only messages not
understood are printed), 2 (only commands erroneously set are printed) and 3 (both
messages and commands are printed). Default value is 0 and shouldn’t be changed
unless Cerberus Dati Customer Support service advises you to do so.
