This example involves a multiple line message which has been entered in the Clear Text

2.19.2 Acknowledgment of Successful Message Transfer

Message Sender

At the finish of 'MEMO' dialogue and after the message text has been successfully

deposited in the CMB (message buffer) an acknowledgment of 'ok' is output on the

sending terminal.

Depending on the related message channel's current status the message will either be

forwarded immediately or will remain in the CMB until the message channel state is

'normal'.

Message Receiver

A message is output on the receiving terminal together with details about the sender.

PIPS=0..3 Upon receipt of a message, an acoustic signal sounds periodically. the

operator must acknowledge it by pressing any key on the keyboard.

PIPT=4 There is no acoustic signal.
