Connection to VESDAnet® Network
NOTES:
1. 4000 feet maximum
between devices on the
VESDAnet® network.
2. Total VESDAnet® length
must not exceed 16,000 feet.
3. Recommended cable:
Belden 9841 or equivalent.
4. Supervised, Style 4 (Class B)
(DCLB).
5. Power limited to NFPA72
per NEC 760.
6. Ground Fault detected at
5 ohms or less.
VESDAnet® Limitations The number of VESDA® detectors allowed on a single HLI is limited by two factors,
the number of VESDAnet® detector nodes (100 maximum) and the number of
VESDA® elements (252 maximum per VPM). Table 1 lists the number of VESDA®
nodes and elements for each VESDA® detector model.
To determine if your configuration falls within the limits of an HLI, first add up the
number of VESDA® detector nodes (see Table 1) that you plan for this HLI. This value
must be <= 100.
` Next, for each VESDA® detector planned for this HLI locate the number of elements it
occupies in Table 1 and sum all of these elements. This value must be <= 252 per VPM.
If either of these values are exceeded you must remove detectors from the HLI until
both values are within the limits. Add additional HLIs until each HLI in the system
satifies these requirements.
