Models VLF-250 and VLF-500
Product Overview Technical Data
The LaserFOCUS series of detectors is used to protect
business-critical spaces. There are two (2) different
types of these very early warning smoke detectors:
Model VLF-250 is designed for coverage area of less
than 2,500 sq. ft. (250 m
2
), whereas Model VLF-500
is used for up to 5,000 sq. ft. (500 m
2
).
Each detector-type operates by drawing air into
sampling holes continually into a piping network.
The air is filtered and passed into a detection
chamber, where light-scattering technology detects
the presence of very small amounts of smoke.
Detector-status information is communicated on the
detector display, as well as through relays or via
optional interface cards.
The sensing process used in Model VLF Series
detectors provides a direct reading of the sampling
(pipe-flow) rate. The sensing system is invulnerable
to changes in air temperature and pressure changes.
Additionally, the sensing process is unaffected by
contamination.
