NCCW7I7-WAN Communication Cards
Models HUB-4, WAIO (with MODEM BLOCK and HUB-RS485)
Product Overview
The Communication Card (Model HUB-4) provides up to
four (4) independent, fully supervised data channels, and
allows Model NCCW7
I7-WAN to communicate to an XL3
node via an MMX Modem, or to a MXL control panel,
using a CM
I-300 modem. Model HUB-4 provides up to four
(4) Style 4 or Style 7 circuits, and each circuit provides an
FSK data communication channel.
Each of the four (4) data channels is controlled by a separate
microcomputer that provides background supervision of
data lines to the panels, as well as the capability of sending /
receiving fire-panel information. The data from these four
(4) channels are concentrated into a single-data stream and
sent to Model NCCW7
I7-WAN, via Model NIC-C.
Model HUB-4 plugs into one (1) slot in the Model CC-5 or
Model CC-2 Card Cage, and has on-board, light-emitting
diodes (LEDs) for troubleshooting and system status.
Indication of power, communication, internal operation,
ground-fault conditions, and indication of circuit trouble
conditions is provided.
Model HUB-4 consists of two (2) C
OM-2 boards. All
system-status conditions are also reported to the
NCCW7
I7-WAN.
For a fully loaded Model HUB-4 communication card, a
maximum of four (4) Model MODEM BLOCKS or RS485
channels can be installed on a single Model HUB-4
communication card.
Model HUB-4 provides modem communications between the
NCCW7
I7-WAN Command Center and either an XL3 Fire Panel
or an MXL control panel. Model NCCW7
I7-WAN transmits to
and from the panels up to eight miles (
12,875 m) using 18-
gauge, twisted pair lines or over extended distances, using
conditioned data grade-leased lines from the telephone
company. Model NCCW7
I7-WAN can communicate with a
maximum of 256 panels.
Model HUB-4 can also interface to the Wide-Area
Input Output
(WA
IO) module. Model WAIO provides four (4) supervised,
dry-contact inputs and four (4) open-collector outputs. The
supervised, dry-contact inputs can be used to monitor non-
Siemens computer systems.
The open-collector outputs can be used to drive relays that
interface with non-Siemens computer systems. The open-
collector outputs can also be used to drive an LED annunciator.
At Model NCCW7
I7-WAN, each input can be configured as:
General Usage, Silence, Reset or Acknowledge.
HUB-4 card provides multi-system configurations
for FireFinder® XLS nodes on the NCC (with
WAN) software platform
For MXL nodes: NIM-1W to HUB-4, via WAN
Each channel has built-in, ground-fault detection
Four (4) Style 4 or Style 7 circuits
Four (4) independent supervised data channels,
via RS
485 on the Model HUB-4 card
Four (4) independent FSK (modem) supervised
data channels
15 diagnostic light-emitting diodes (LEDs)
