ProceedȱtoȱconfigureȱtheȱAirCardȱtoȱuseȱyourȱaccountȱ(ifȱitȱwasȱ
notȱpreȬactivated).ȱSeeȱ“Activation”ȱonȱpage 17.
Card insertion and removal
Inserting the AirCard
ToȱinsertȱtheȱAirCardȱintoȱaȱnotebook:
1. Withȱtheȱpictureȱlabelȱfacingȱup,ȱinsertȱtheȱAirCardȱintoȱ
theȱslot.
WhenȱyouȱinsertȱtheȱAirCard,ȱtheȱfollowingȱshouldȱoccur:
• Ifȱsoundȱeffectsȱareȱenabled,ȱthe ȱPCȱbeeps.
• TheȱPC Cardȱiconȱappearsȱinȱtheȱsystemȱtray,ȱifȱitȱisȱnotȱ
alreadyȱdisplayedȱfor
ȱanotherȱcard,ȱ(andȱunlessȱtheȱfeature ȱ
hasȱbeenȱdisabled).[IconȱforȱWindowsȱVistaȱTBD]
• Watcherȱlaunchesȱ(unlessȱtheȱautolaunchȱfeatureȱhasȱbeenȱ
disabled).
TheȱAirCardȱisȱpoweredȱasȱsoonȱasȱyouȱinsertȱit.
Removing the AirCard
ToȱremoveȱtheȱAirCard:
1. CloseȱWatcherȱifȱitȱisȱopen.
2. ClickȱtheȱPC Cardȱiconȱinȱtheȱsystem ȱtrayȱtoȱdisplayȱtheȱ
optionȱtoȱstopȱtheȱcard.[IconȱforȱWindowsȱVistaȱTBD]
3. Clickȱ“
Safely remove NEC PCI to USB OpenHost Controller”.
4. Ifȱaȱdialogȱboxȱappearsȱnotifyingȱyouȱthatȱitȱisȱsafeȱtoȱ
removeȱtheȱcard,ȱclickȱ
OK.
5. UseȱtheȱejectorȱtoȱremoveȱtheȱAirCardȱfromȱtheȱslot.
