Watcherȱisȱtheȱapplicationȱthatȱallowsȱyouȱtoȱmanageȱandȱ
monitorȱtheȱconnectionȱbetweenȱtheȱAirCardȱandȱtheȱCDMAȱ
network.ȱYouȱuseȱWatcherȱto:
• Determineȱyourȱsignalȱstrength,ȱroamingȱstatus,ȱ3GȱhighȬ
speedȱdataȱavailability,ȱandȱotherȱnetworkȱconnectionȱ
parameters
• Initiateȱdataȱcalls
• Viewȱcallȱstatistics
• ReceiveȱandȱsendȱSMSȱmessages
• Customizeȱfeaturesȱandȱoptions
DependingȱonȱWatcherȱsettings,ȱyouȱmayȱbeȱableȱtoȱconnectȱtoȱ
theȱCDMAȱnetworkȱwithoutȱstartingȱWatcher—simplyȱbyȱ
launchingȱwhateverȱapplicationȱyouȱwantȱtoȱuseȱ(suchȱasȱyourȱ
webȱbrowserȱorȱeȬmailȱapplication).ȱHowever,ȱWatcherȱandȱitsȱ
iconȱinȱtheȱsystemȱtrayȱwon’ tȱbeȱavailableȱforȱyouȱtoȱmonitorȱ
theȱstatusȱofȱtheȱconnection.
Starting and closing Watcher
DependingȱonȱyourȱsettingsȱinȱtheȱOptionsȱwindow,ȱWatcherȱ
launchesȱautomaticallyȱanytimeȱyouȱinsertȱtheȱAirCard.ȱYouȱ
canȱalsoȱlaunchȱWatcherȱby:
• DoubleȬclickingȱtheȱWatcherȱicon ȱonȱyourȱdesktop
• Selectingȱ

AirCard 595 Watcher
TheȱstandardȱWindowsȱcontrolȱbuttonsȱinȱtheȱupperȱrightȱ
cornerȱofȱtheȱwindowȱareȱusedȱtoȱminimizeȱorȱcloseȱWatcher.ȱ
Whenȱminimized,ȱWatcherȱdoesȱnotȱappearȱasȱaȱtaskbarȱ
button.ȱInstead,ȱanȱiconȱisȱshownȱinȱtheȱsystemȱtray,ȱusuallyȱatȱ
