Aswithanyelectronicdevice,theAirCardUSBmodemmust
behandledwithcaretoensurereliableoperation.Followthese
guidelineswhenyouuseandstoretheAirCardUSBmodem:
• TheAirCardUSBmodemshouldfiteasilyintoyourUSB
slot.Youmaydamagetheconnectorpinsifyouforcethe
AirCardUSBmodemintoaslot.
• Whennotinstalledinyourcomputer,storetheAirCard
USBmodemandSIMinasafeplace.
• ProtecttheAirCardUSBmodemfromliquids,dust,and
excessiveheat.
Whenyouinsertorremovethemodem,alwaysholditbythe
sides.
Themodem’sUSBconnectorisadjustabletothreepositions.
Donotforcethehingepastthelastpoint—thismaybreakthe
connector.Formoreinformation,seetheillustrationon
page 18.
Battery
Werecommendthatyoufullychargethebatterybeforeusing
itforthefirsttime.
UseonlySierraWirelessAirCardUSBmodembatteries
intendedforusewiththisdevice.Usingotherbatteriesand
chargerscouldbedangerous.
Donotletthemetalcontactsonthebatterytouchanother
metalobject.Doingsocouldshortcircuitanddamagethe
battery.
Ifthebatteryleaksoremitsanodor,immediately removeit
fromtheproximityofanyexposedflame.Theleaking
electrodecouldigniteandcauseafireorexplosion.
