Thischapterdescribescommandsusedtoconfigurehost
supportforSTKfeatures,monitorandrespondtounsolicited
proactiveSIMcommands,andpresentSTKoptionmenus
providedbytheSIM.Thesecommandsimplementasubsetof
thefunctionsdefinedin3GPP
TS11.14.
STK interactions
ThehostSTKsupportprofileinformstheSIMabouttheSTK
featuresthehostsupports.Thisprofileisdownloadedtothe
SIMeachtimethemodemresets.Atanytime,theprofilecan
beupdatedbyusingAT!STKPDandthenresettingthe
modem.
Processing unsolicited SIM commands
ToprocesscommandsissuedbytheSIM:
1. EnabletheATinterfaceforSTKfunctionality—issuethe
commandAT!CUSTOM=”STKUIEN”,2.
2. Monitorthecommandpromptforunsolicitedproactive
SIMcommands:
· “AT ! S T K C : <cmdId>”— Thisisacommandthatrequires
aresponse.See
Table9‐2forsupportedcommands.
· “AT ! S T K N : <cmdId>,<data>”—Thisisanotificationthat
doesnotrequirearesponse.See
Table9‐17andTable
9‐18forsupportednotifications.
Note: If <cmdId> = 81 (End of
proactive session), no response
is required.
3. IftheSIMcommandis“AT ! S T K C : <cmdId>,followthe
appropriateprocedurebelow:
· If<cmdID>=“81”(Endofproactivesession),no
responseisrequired.
· If<cmdID>=“25”(SetUpMenu):
i. Respondwith“AT!STKGC=<cmdId>”toretrieve
themenustructure.
i. Respondwith“AT!STKCR=25,0”toindicate
success.
ii. Determinethemenuitemtoselect(forexample,
presentthemenutotheuserandgettheirinput)
andsendittotheSIMusing“AT!STKMS=<item>”.
