OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
Step #1: If you are on the drivers side of the car, grab the belt assembly as shown in photo #1. Pull the
assembly out and forward as shown in photo #2, with your right hand pulling the excess belt material
all the way out until you hear a “click”. This step is critical because when you hear the “click”, you have
then engaged the ratcheting mechanism in the seat belt retractor, which will then prevent the prisoner
from moving when he is strapped in. If you fail to hear the “click”, you have not engaged the system.
Step #2: While still holding the slack material with your right hand, grab the black handle with your left
handasshowninphoto#3andinserttheseatbelttipintothelockingmechanismasshowninphoto
#4 and then release the slack belt material with your right hand and pull the black handle to separate
the black handle from the seat belt lock (photo #5). This will then allow the belt to tighten against the
prisoner’s upper torso, and if the ratcheting system has been properly engaged as outlined above, then
each time the prisoner moves, the belt will automatically tighten against his body making him com
-
pletely immobile. At this point, you can then slide the black handle up towards the retractor away from
the prisoner and leave it there. When you are ready to release the prisoner, release the seat belt like
normal.Whennished,re-insertthebeltintotheblackhandleforstorage(photo#6)readyforthenext
use (photo #7).
Note: If you are on the passenger side of the car, use the opposite hands that are described and follow
the same series of instructions.
