3.3 FA4-MC INSTALLATION:
Please contact a licensed fire alarm installer for installation and working with this product. Improper installation can damage
your fire alarm and/or prevent proper operation of the fire alarm. Technical support is available at (800) 572-5227.
The FA4-MC is designed to interface with a filtered supervised fire panel notification appliance circuit. 12VDC to 24VDC
Reverse Polarity voltage will power the transmitter for supervision reporting to Silent Call Receiver if applicable.
1. Identify Fire Panel NAC specifications. Filtered panels only. NAC alert voltage 12VDC to 24VDC
positive polarity. 12VDC to 24VDC reverse polarity required for Silent Call supervision.
2. Connect the FA4-MC to a switched 12 or 24VDC voltage output from the fire panel NAC-- OR -- to the
24V horn / strobe output.
3. Follow Fire panel wiring requirements. Transmitter is a supervised power limited device.
4. Using Test Button with alarm in standby check for proper receiver operation before mounting.
5. Transmitters interfaced with Fire Panel with no supervision voltage will require a non-supervised
receiver. Test Button will not operate without reverse polarity voltage.
6. Transmitter must be programmed with Medallion Receiver. Follow Programming procedure in Receiver
installation manual.
7. Reference Silent Call FA4-MC Installation Drawing 20-300-022-01FA4.
3.4 FA4-MC OPERATION:
1. FA4-MC will transmit when the input voltage has positive polarity. Fire Alarm active.
2. When the FA4-MC transmitter is activated the Red LED on the face of the transmitter lights up. The
transmitter then sends an RF signal to a preprogrammed Silent Call Medallion Series Receiver activating
the FIRE Alert on the Receiver.
3. Applicable receivers will supervise fire transmitter operation and alert the user to Transmitter/NAC
fault.
4. Weekly testing of Auxiliary alerting system is recommended.
5. Quick reference Document # 109115.
The FA4-MC in conjunction with a Silent Call Medallion Series receiver is considered an
Supplementary Visible Notification Appliance.
