Information for Canadian Users (IC notice) (SX-510)
The term “IC” before the radio certification number only signifies that Industry of Canada technical
specifications were met. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not
cause interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference, including interference that may
cause undesired operation of the device.
This Class B digital apparatus meets all requirements of the Canadian Interference-Causing Equipment
Regulations (RSS-210).
To prevent radio interference to the licensed service, this device is intended to be operated indoors and
away from windows to provide maximum shielding. Additionally, the band 5150-5250 MHz is only for
indoor usage to reduce potential for harmful interference to co-channel mobile satellite systems.
Equipment that is installed outdoors is subject to licensing.
This device has been designed to operate with an internal antenna having a maximum gain of 2 dB in the
2402-2472 MHz band and 3 dB in the 5150-5250 & 5725-5825 MHz bands. Antenna having a higher
gain is strictly prohibited to comply with the equivalent isotropically radiated power (EIRP) limits specified
per regulations of Industry Canada. The required antenna impedance is 50 ohms.
The SX-510 satisfies the RSS-102 rules for Specific Absorption Rate (SAR). The SAR limit set by the IC
is 1.6 W/kg (Watts/kilogram). These limits are part of comprehensive guidelines to establish permitted
levels of Radio Frequency energy for the general public. The highest body SAR value for the SX-510 is
0.41 W/kg. The SX-510 is not intended for placement next to the head and the 20 cm separation rule
should be used.
