7.2 LOW-POWER SLOW START JUMPER
In certain system configurations It may be desirable to use a Low-Power Slow Start mode of initialization of the
drive. In cases when this Is necessary. the mode can be selected by grounding pin 13 of the microprocessor. ()
On early versions (i.e.
t
MLC 4 only) of the 706/712 PCB (PIN 26141 and 26159) this is accomplished by shorting
between pins
12 and 13. See figure 7-2. .

In each of the above applications. grounding is to be applied to the solder sid. of the PCB. and removal of the
board is not necessary.
NOTE: The ends of the jumper should be cut to a
chi,el point to pierce the socket insulation.
