budget control In commitment control, budget control ensures that comm itmen ts a nd expenditures
don’t exceed b
udgets. It enables you to track transactions against corresponding
budgets and terminate a document’s cycle if the defined budget conditions are not met.
For example, you can prevent a purchase order from being dispatched to a vendor if
there are ins
ufficient funds in the related budget to su pport it.
budget period The interval of time (such as 12 m on ths or 4 quarters) into which a period is divided
for budgetar
y and reporting purposes. The ChartField allows maxim um flexibility to
define operational accounting time periods without restriction to only one calendar.
business ac
tivity
The name of a
subset of a detailed business process. This might be a specific
transaction, task, or action that you perform in a business process.

have one or more learning activities.
