delivery met hod In PeopleSoft E nterprise Learning Management, identifies the primary type o f
delivery meth
od in which a particular learning activity is offered. Also provides
default values for th e learnin g activity, such as cost and language. This is primarily
used to help learners search the catalog for the type of delivery from which they learn
best. Because
PeopleSoft Enterprise Learnin g Management is a blended learning
system, it does not enforce the delivery method .
In PeopleSoft Enterprise Supply Chain Management, identifies the method by which
goods are shi
pped to their destinations (such as truck, air, and rail). The delivery
method is specified when creating shipment schedules.

dimension In PeopleSoft Analytic Calculation Engine, a dimension contains a list of one kind

model. Within the analytic model, a dimension is attached to one or more data cubes.
In PeopleSoft Cub e Manager, a dimension is the mo st basic component of an OLAP
cube and s
pecifies the PeopleSoft metadata to b e used to create the dimension’s rollup
structure. Dimensions and data cubes in PeopleSoft Analytic Calculation Engine ar e
unrelated to dimensions and OLAP cubes i n P eopleSoft Cube Manager.

dynamic detail tree A tree that takes its detail values— dynam ic details—directly from a table in the
database, rather than from a range o f v alues that are entered by the user.
edit table A table in the database that has its own record definition, such as the D epartment t able.

effective date A method of dating info rmation in PeopleSoft Enterprise applications. You can
pred
ate information to add historical data to your system, or postdate information in
order to enter it before it actually goes into effect. By u sing effective d ates, you don’t
delete values; you enter a new value w ith a current effective date.
EIM ledger Ab breviation for Enterprise Incentive Management ledger. In Peop leS o f t Enterprise
Incentive M anagement, an o bject to handle incremental result gathering w ith in the
sco
pe of a p articipant. The ledger captures a result set with all of the appropriate traces
tothedataoriginandtotheprocessing st eps of which it is a result.
