LMS Abbreviation for learning manageme nt system. In PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus
Solutions, LMS is a PeopleSoft Enterprise Student Records feature that provides a
common set of
interoperability standards that enable the sharing of instructional
content and data between learning and administrative environm ent s .
load In PeopleSo
ft Enterprise Invento ry, identifies a group of goods that are shipped
together. Load management is a feature of PeopleSoft Enterprise Inventory that is u sed
to track the weight, the volu m e, and the destination of a sh ipment.
local fun ctionality In PeopleSoft Enterprise HRMS, the set o f inf ormation that is available for a specific
country. Yo u can access this information when you click the appropriate country flag
in the glob
al window, or when you access it by a local country menu.
location Locations enable you to indicate the different types of addresses—for a company, for
example,
one address to receive bills, another for shipping, a third for postal deliveries,
and a separate street address. Each address has a different location number. The
primary location—indicated by a 1—is the address you use most often and may be
differen
t from the main address.
logistical task In PeopleSoft Enterprise Services Procurement, an administrat ive task that is related to
hiring a
service provider. Logistical tasks are linked to the service typ e on the work
order so that different types of services can have different logistical tasks. Logistical
tasks include both p reap pro val tasks (such as assigning a n ew badge or ordering a
new lapt
op) and postap proval tasks (such as scheduling orientation or setting up the
service pro vider email ). T he logistical tasks can be mandatory o r optional. Mandatory
preapproval tasks must be completed before the work order is approved. M andatory
postap
proval tasks, on the other hand, must be completed befo re a work order is
released to a service provider.
