d to determine the accounting entries created for a transaction and to
determine how a transaction is reported on the VAT return. For all cases within
Purchasing and P ayables where VAT information is tracked on a transaction, this
flag is set
to Yes. This flag is not used in PeopleSo ft E nterprise Order Management,
Billing, or Receivables, where it is assumed that you are always recording only o utput
VAT, or in PeopleSo ft Enterprise Expenses, w her e it is assume d that you ar e always
recording

recognition In PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions, the recognition t ype indicates w heth er

commitment or shares the credit for a donation. Primary donors receive hard credit that
must total 100 p ercen t. Donors that share the credit are given soft credit. Institutions
can also

reference transaction In commitment control, a reference tr ansaction is a sou rce transaction that is

enced by a higher-level (and usually later) source transaction, in order to
automatically reverse all or part of the referenced transaction’s b udget-checked
amount. This avoids duplicate postings during the sequen tial entry of the transaction at
diff
erent commitment levels. For example, the amount of an encumbrance transaction
(such as a purchase o rder) will, when checked and recorded against a budget, cause
the system t o concurrently referen c e and relieve all or part of the amount of a
corr
esponding pre-encumbran ce transaction, such as a purchase requisition.
regional sourcing In PeopleSoft Enterprise Purchasin g, provides the infrastructure to main tain, display,
and
select an appropriate vendor and vendor pricing structure that is based on a
regional sourcing mo del where the multip le ship to locations are g rouped. Sourcing
may occur at a level h i gher than the ship to location.
relationship object In PeopleSoft E nterprise Incentive Management, these objects further define a
compensation structure to resolve transactions by establishing associations between
co
mpensation ob jects and business objects.
remote data source data Data that is extracted from a separate database and migrated into the local database.
