SNMPv1 with Traps
To configure a notification target for traps from SNMPv1, use the following
command:
Syntax
set snmp notify target target-num ip-addr[:udp-port-number]
v1 community-string
[profile profile-name]
Defaults
The default UDP port number on the target is 162. The default
minimum required security level is unsecured. The default number of retries is 0
and the default timeout is 2 seconds.
Access
Enabled.
Usage
The inform or trap option specifies whether the UNIVERGE WL
Control System SNMP engine expects the target to acknowledge notifications
sent to the target by the UNIVERGE WL Controller. Use inform if you want
acknowledgements. Use trap if you do not want acknowledgements. The inform
option is applicable to SNMP version v2c or usm only.
Examples
The following command configures a notification target for
acknowledged notifications:
PROMPT# set snmp notify target 1 10.10.40.9 usm inform user securesnmpmgr1
snmp-engine-id ip
success: change accepted.
target-num ID for the target. This ID is local to the
UNIVERGE WL Controller and does not
need to correspond to a value on the target
itself. You can specify a number from 1 to
10.
ip-addr[:udp-port-number] IP address of the server. You also can
specify the UDP port number to send
notifications to.
community-string Community string.
profile profile-name Notification profile this SNMP user will use
to specify the notification types to send or
